A Long Night – UE5 – Finished Game
Sorry for not updating this site in a while! I have had a lot to do while I’ve been gone!
This was originally planned to be a super short indie horror game with the intent, you can play the entire thing without ever being scared. The entire game takes only 5 minutes to play through. So if you’re curious feel free to give it a try!
This game was made mostly to learn a few concepts.
- IK/Control rig
- All the animation was done in engine by hand. It’s not perfect. But I learned some valuable lessons. Like always use the control rotation over the character rotation as it lags a little behind. And I’m not sure how much passion I feel for animation. Kudos, to animators that do it by hand. But it’s a lot of effort for someone who isn’t artistic.
- A story
- This game doesn’t have much of a story. But having a progression system with states was an experience. And now I know to keep it simple. I tried to make it do too much and it became a mess fairly quickly. In all my future projects, I plan to keep my code simple and segregated.
